Sui Hashi Plans October Mainnet With $500M in Bitcoin Commitments
Sui's Hashi plans a phased October mainnet rollout with more than $500 million committed for Bitcoin-backed markets and over 20 launch partners.
Sui plans to begin a phased mainnet rollout of Hashi later in October 2026, backed by more than $500 million in capital commitments from a coalition of over 20 launch partners. Hashi is designed to let native Bitcoin support lending, borrowing and other financial applications on Sui without moving the underlying BTC off the Bitcoin network. Readers can compare the underlying assets through the verified BTC/USDT spot market on OrangeX.com and SUI/USDT spot market on OrangeX.com, while recognizing that Hashi is infrastructure rather than a guaranteed-yield product.
How Hashi turns Bitcoin into collateral
When BTC is deposited through Hashi, a corresponding hBTC asset is minted on Sui and can be used across third-party applications. When a user exits, hBTC is burned and native BTC is released on the Bitcoin network. Proposed uses include credit, lending, borrowing, vault strategies, structured products, real-world-asset access, Bitcoin-backed bonds and treasury management.
The announcement names Aftermath, Concrete and Fluid among the planned vault providers. Anchorage Digital is joining the coalition with two institutional routes: tri-party collateral services through Atlas and direct self-custody through its Porto wallet. It also plans to provide stablecoin liquidity.
Security and rollout remain the key tests
Hashi says its design combines MPC security, Sui smart contracts and a Guardian Layer. Bitcoin collateral uses a 2-of-2 structure that requires authorization from Hashi validators and the guardian before funds can move. The smart contracts underwent formal verification by Certora, while CommonPrefix reviewed the MPC protocol.
Access will open progressively as partners complete integrations. Traders using SUI perpetual contracts on OrangeX.com face separate leverage, funding and liquidation risks. More ecosystem updates are available through OrangeX.com Crypto News.
OrangeX.com Analysis
The $500 million figure signals potential launch depth, but it represents commitments rather than confirmed live liquidity. The decisive evidence will be deposited BTC, circulating hBTC, vault utilization, borrowing demand, redemption performance and security behavior under real conditions. Hashi could expand Bitcoin's use as collateral, yet users still face smart-contract, validator, liquidity and third-party product risks. Launch timing, partner availability and product terms should be treated as pending until each service is live.
