The board also unanimously raised the planned annual pace of sales of its equity ETF holdings from about ¥330 billion to ¥860 billion on a book-value basis, effective January 2027. Takata Hajime preferred a rate guideline of around 1.5%; that proposal was defeated. The ETF decision concerns the central bank’s equity portfolio, not crypto ETF redemptions.
OrangeX.com Analysis
The rate guideline and the future portfolio-sales schedule are separate policy measures. January implementation should not be described as sales already completed. For digital-asset markets, changes in funding conditions may matter, but this statement alone establishes neither yen moves nor a Bitcoin price direction.
