CME Plans Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap Futures for October 19
CME Group plans to launch standard and Micro futures on Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap on October 19, subject to regulatory review.
CME Group plans to launch cash-settled Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap futures on October 19, subject to regulatory review. The planned listings would give market participants standard and smaller Micro contracts for managing BCH and UNI price exposure within the exchange operator's regulated derivatives market.
Contract sizes and launch conditions
The standard Bitcoin Cash futures contract would represent 250 BCH, while the Micro version would represent 25 BCH. The standard Uniswap futures contract would cover 10,000 UNI, with a 1,000 UNI Micro contract. CME Group said the contracts would be listed under its exchange rules.
The October 19 date remains conditional. Regulatory review must be completed before trading begins, so the announcement should not be treated as confirmation that the products are already live. Readers following UNI can consult the verified UNI/USDT spot market and UNI/USDT perpetual market on OrangeX.com.
Why the expansion matters
CME Group reported that its cryptocurrency futures and options averaged 279,800 contracts per day in the first half of 2026, representing $8.3 billion in average daily notional value. Average open interest was 264,600 contracts, or $15.4 billion in notional value. It also said its 2026 additions for Cardano, Chainlink, Stellar, Avalanche and Sui had generated more than $1 billion in total year-to-date notional value.
Those figures describe the wider derivatives suite, not expected demand for the new BCH or UNI contracts. More market developments are available through OrangeX.com Crypto News, while trading safeguards can be reviewed in the OrangeX.com Trust Center.
OrangeX.com Analysis
Adding standard and Micro sizes could broaden access by letting institutions and smaller hedgers choose different exposure levels. The most useful signal after a successful launch would be sustained volume, open interest and orderly spreads across both contract sizes rather than activity concentrated on the first trading day.
The listing may deepen regulated price discovery for BCH and UNI, but it does not guarantee higher token demand or price appreciation. Regulatory clearance, actual participation and liquidity quality remain the factors to verify after October 19.
