DTCC Launches Tokenization Service on Canton and Private Besu
Twenty DTC participants have signed access agreements. The service covers eligible securities, not all DTC custody assets.
DTCC announced on October 28, 2026 that its DTC subsidiary launched the DTCC Tokenization Service. Eligible users can convert DTC-held securities entitlements between traditional and tokenized forms. The company says ownership rights and economic entitlements are retained.
Twenty DTC participants have signed access agreements. Current integrations are Canton Network and DTCC’s private Besu network; more networks are planned for 2027.
OrangeX.com Analysis
The launch expands institutional infrastructure. Access agreements are not a measure of live transaction volume, and DTC’s overall custody assets should not be presented as the amount already tokenized.
